To Create a Report Component Formula

Use the following examples to help create a quantification formula:

  1. Calculate height for a form:
    Select (Height)

Select in consecutive order, (Volume), / (forward slash operator), and (Surface Bottom).

These formulae display in the Formula list box as:

    • H (height)
    • VOL / SB (volume divided by surface bottom)
  2. Calculate English unit quantification for a tile component installed along a 5 foot – 3 inch section of wall:
Select in consecutive order, (Length Center), * (star operator), and enter 5.25 (5 feet 3 inches).

This formula displays in the Formula list box as:

    • LC * 5.25 (length multiplied by 5 feet 3 inches)
  3. Calculate Metric unit quantification for a tile component installed along a 1500 mm section of wall:
Select in consecutive order, (Length Center), * (star operator), and enter 1.5.

This formula displays in the Formula list box as:

    • LC * 1.5 (length multiplied by 1.5 meters)
  4. Calculate English unit quantification for footings using an excavation component; where the footing is represented by a single line:
Select in consecutive order, (Length Center), * (star operator), and enter 2.75.

Select * (star operator) again; and enter 2.33.

This formula displays in the Formula list box as:

    • LC * 2.75 * 2.33 (length of the single line, multiplied by depth of the excavation, multiplied by width of the excavation).
  5. Calculate Metric unit quantification for footings using an excavation component; where the footing is represented by a single line:
Select in consecutive order, (Length Center), * (star operator), and enter 0.8 (meters).

Select * (star operator) again; and enter 0.6 (meters).

This formula displays in the Formula list box as:

    • LC * 0.8 * 0.6 (length of the single line, multiplied by depth of the excavation in meters, multiplied by width of the excavation in meters).
